Itspunand took out
theshroud,sending rock dust
intofresh wounds and a homesick mouth.
Afterit surrounded anydoleful, onlooking curs,
it sated itself with unlatching nodes fromunkempt tufts
of palm trees andjumblednori, discardingthem along Tohoku's coast.
